TIM DAVIS

'My Life in Politics' is a look at the banality of American political life. At a fast-food restaurant, Davis found a mural with various depictions of Martin Luther King, Jr., that boldly declares ³One People, One Nation, One Taco, One Destiny.² After being told that he couldn't use his tripod in the museum at the Nixon birthplace, in San Clemente, California, he instead photographed an iridescent oil stain in the parking lot. The tone is set with the first picture, a ripped and peeling Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington; the show concludes with a series of details of statues called ³Founding Fathers' Crotches.² Through Nov. 5. (Bohen Foundation, 415 W. 13th St. 212-414-4575.)
